定義： 純棉布是相對于滌棉等混紡布而言的，純棉布泛指以棉花為原材料紡織而成的布料。它是用棉紗或棉與棉型化纖混紡紗線織成的織物，含棉量達百分之七十以上。純棉布具有良好的吸濕性和透氣性；布面光澤柔和；手感較為柔軟但不光滑；純棉布的坯布布面還有棉籽屑等細小雜質；易皺，用手抓緊后松開會產生明顯折皺，而且不易恢復。應該說純棉布的性格是隨和型的吧，無論裁剪和縫制，它一點都不會讓刁難你。特別在制作拼布時，純棉布與純棉布、純棉布與背后的輔棉都能很好融合。
